How long do they last?
It depends on which size you go for! The Sences 2200ml will last as long as a year, or the 1000ml option will last around 9 months. To get the best value for money, we recommend the Sences Reed Diffuser 2200ml.
Where should I put the diffuser?
The diffuser should be kept away from direct sunlight, heat or excessive draught. The oil needs to evaporate slowly to offer a long-lasting fragrance. Heat, sunlight and draught can speed up the evaporation process which means your diffuser will run out quicker.
Also, think about foot traffic. The diffuser should be placed somewhere people walk past, but it should be protected from any bumps and knocks which could cause spillages.
Do I need to replace the reeds?
These diffusers are made with high-quality reeds that offer brilliant longevity. There is no need to replace them as they should last as long as the diffuser itself. However, if you want to get a little scent boost, we recommend flipping the reeds every now and then.
That being said, if your reeds have become excessively clogged with dust and debris, you might need to replace them.
Why is my diffuser running out so quickly?
High temperatures or low humidity can shorten the lifespan of your diffuser. An optimum room temperature is between 18°C to 24°C.
Why do diffusers stop smelling after a while?
The oil naturally evaporates, which means the diffuser will no longer have such a strong scent.
There is also the phenomenon of nose blindness which might be affecting your ability to smell the diffuser! Nose blindness is an adaptation of your body that means it becomes less able to detect common scents in your surroundings. Basically, as your nose gets ‘used to a scent’ it notices it much less.
This means you might stop noticing your diffuser, even if it is still full of oil. To combat nose blindness, you should rotate smells frequently. You might want to use one diffuser for a few weeks and then switch to another one so you notice the smells all over again.
If you do this, pack away the diffuser each time, making sure you remove the reeds from the oil so they can no longer soak up the fragrance.
